Varsity Cats fall to BGHW

The Varsity Icecats were “rained out” Wednesday night in a home match up against BGHW (Buffalo Grove-Hersey).  It started with a trickle, first one drop (goal) and then another, both despite being on the power play. From there the rain only got worse, and the game could not end quickly enough for our Icecats. The final result, an 8-0 loss.

A combination of injuries and absences left the Cats down six key players Wednesday.

Next up for the Cats is the annual Stevenson Thanksgiving tournament, which begins Friday at Twin Rinks in Buffalo Grove with a game at 1:40 pm against Glenbrook North. On Saturday, the Cats play New Trier White at 7:15 a.m., and then Loyola at 6:55 pm.

The JV Cats take on Crystal Lake South at 8:30 tonight at Glacier.

The JV team’s tournament scheduled begins against Evanston Friday at 7:00 am, and face off against Highland Park at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, JV meets Glenbrook South at 3:20 pm.

Both teams will have an opportunity to play Sunday if they place well within their groups.
